Vessel2000 Overview

Vessel2000 is a fully integrated risk analysis and comprehensive vessel referencing system, providing support and management facilities for hull insurers, including underwriters, agents and brokers. It delivers a unique combination of risk recording, rating and analysis tools, combined with the most definitive database of vessel details available. It supports multi-user and multi-site operation, yet remains simple and intuitive to use.

Immediate benefits

Vessel 2000 delivers immediate benefits by simplifying the process of accurately identifying vessels and returning definitive characteristics (including type of vessel, age, flag,  tonnages, etc?). Being backed by a sophisticated database, which can be trained with your business rules for rating vessels, it makes intelligent suggestions wherever possible, thus saving you both time and effort, and improving the quality, consistency and integrity of your book of business. In addition, because it is fully integrated, you need never enter information more than once.

Longer-term benefits

Vessel 2000 delivers long-term benefits by providing simple and efficient, yet extremely powerful browsing facilities, combined with a range of flexible analysis and reporting tools. Because it is a fully integrated system, these tools operate on the widest and most complete information possible, and can therefore present the most accurate overall picture of your business, as well as identifying trends in the broadest range of individual areas.

Ease of use

Vessel 2000 is very ease of use (consistency and simplicity having been key design constraints throughout its development). For example, to simplify the system and reduce the learning curve for new users, the same forms are used both for data entry and for browsing. Similarly, all forms can be displayed either in "form view" (showing the full details of a single record) or in "datasheet view" (showing a tabular list of records).

Vessel 2000 provides all of the graphical user interface features you would expect to find in a well-designed windows-based application (e.g. menus, tool bars, scrolling windows, pull-down lists, etc?), but also consistently provides a number of intuitive additional facilities, such as counts of related information. For example, the risk form shows a count of related risk-vessels. Double-click on the count and those risk-vessels are automatically selected and displayed in the risk-vessel form (ready for browsing, amendment of the rates for that vessel, deletion from the risk, etc?). Likewise, double-click on the name of a vessel on any form and that vessel is displayed in the vessel form, with full details (including type, age, flag, tonnages, classifications, etc?), and its own counts (e.g. casualties, ownership, debit notes, etc?). Even more powerfully, these intuitive automatic selections (in combination with other selection methods if required) can be used as the basis of analysis reports.

Multi-currency

Vessel 2000 supports full multi-currency operation. Values can be recorded in any currency. They can subsequently be analysed in either the same currency or a different one. Amounts will be converted automatically where necessary (by triangulation via any currency you require, including the Euro) using the exchange rates you specify.

Integration

Vessel 2000 integrates seamlessly with other applications (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel), providing a wealth of opportunities for enhancement and customisation.
